Arapaima fishing just got the "Thumbs" up
We had a cracking day At Fisherman's Paradise Nichada Thani.
As you can see Arapaima Release was on the agenda with a few other species thrown in, like 1000 Barramundi, 3 Arowana and 4 Arapaima.

Here is some video footage of some fish you dont see evey day, as these Arapaima are tame, they are use to interaction with humans,

These fish are about to go thorough a major growth stage, the fish released in the past into this lake have great numbers of baitfish to feast on. We are expecting to see some good Kilos on these fish by Christmas as the bait fish are in big numbers this year thanks to some help.
These are wonderful examples of Arapaima it will be great to watch them grow over time.
We dont have any shots of the Barramundi Release but we are hapy to say that 1000 very fast growing 4-6 inch Barramundi were released with another 3000 fish waiting in pens for more growth.
We can expect with stocking of Barramundi like this to have some of the best Barramundi fishing you can imagine, with future stocking planned as well we will be looking at some great years ahead for the lure fisherman.
Whilst on the topic of releasing fish, plans for the Mega Pen are well on the way, this will be the starting pen for the 50,000 Giant Snakehead being delivered in a few weeks.
We also have some Nile Perch, 200 infact, ok these are small fish about 2 inch long but the price tag is not! In the hands of masters these will be Monsters of the lake within 18months, after 3 years things will be shocking, the nick name for this lake already is Monster lake, I think from what I see it will live up to its name
Thoughts on the Video
Some people will say about me swimming with these fish, as it is not good on release. These were different and I have been diving for fish now for some time, the saftey of the fish is important as these fish are hard to find and expensive fish.
You can’t hold a 1.4-meter Arapaima by one arm, if it wants to go it will. This fish was happy to relax for a while
This is not just for fun, its part of the job, as moments like this I am learning a new Species, remembering when a Big Fish is trapped under a building and it is on heavy line, there is only one thing you can do, Dive for the fish and that is some dangerous work, one man, one lung full of air and a Big Trapped Fish.
but learning can be fun too!
