Finding a Proto-type Solar Powered Boat on a stunning 50 acre lake stocked with some of the best fishing in Thailand has taken up most of my life for the past few months, the boat modifications and the building of a show room has been quite hard work.

The Proto-type Solar Powered Boat has under gone further changes to provide our clients with this exclusive fishing venue. Modified to target world records for the biggest fresh water fish in the world
Coupled with the idea of Solar Energy we decided to utilise some recycling with the use of Thai Timber, we came across some timber that came off a disused pier that was over 20 years old.
Thailand's Redwood is a hard wood with a very high density, it is also very rare in today’s world so we decided to recycle this stunning timber and produce a bar top that shows some of the finest woods in the world in their full color over 20 years later. We also wanted to feature some of the beautiful woods used in parquetry, and what better way to display these than a mosaic of Asian Hardwoods on the bar front.
The bow has been re-decked to provide a lure casting platform that is truly a delight to fish from, a great angle to cast from a good sized area. With this area at the bow it also means we can position the anglers at the best distance and angle for their casting ability. Having a clear bow affords true freedom of casting for Lure Fishing.
Solar Powered Boat new Deck & Bar - Stern Deck designed for easy cleaning
The stern area has new decking designed for clean fishing, seats and rod holders now litter the stern giving this boat a feeling of serious fishing to come.
With the addition of the rod holders this allows for a different style of fishing in Thailand, we are now able to use our Deep Sea Big Game Fishing styles.
The High Strike Drag (Break) can be helpful in the Targeting of Predator fish. As the Arapaima tend to be Smash and Run artists they only travel meters before they hit the Heavy Strike Drag setting the barbless circle hook, this lessens the chance of a “Gut Hook” as they don’t have time to swallow the bait. Add to this the New Big Game Chair to be fitted at the bow and we have a fine vessel emerging, a Proto-type Boat and a new style of fishing means that it will take time for this fine boat to come into full bloom. However when it does this boat will be the vessel responsible for smashing international world records, as it has been especially modified to target Nichada Thani's 150kg (330lbs) plus Aripaima, and their 200kg (440lbs) estimated (30 year old) Giant Mekong Delta Catfish.
From the time this boat came out into the light it created a lot of interest, not only with the local residents at Nichada Thani but also on an international level. Adapting this Solar Powered Boat to a Big Game Fishing Boat has sparked some great interest in the industry, not with just the concept but also the use of the vessel. Who knows maybe more international fisherman can adopt this idea.
